PAPARAZZI

This is definitely one of the coolest ads I've ever seen. Nikon took its inspiration from our celebrity-obsessed paparazzi culture to launch the brand's D700 model in Korea.

At a busy Seoul subway station, Nikon mounted a huge interactive, light-box billboard displaying life-like images of paparazzi. The "celebrities" in this case were the passersby, who automatically triggered a ton of flashing camera lights as they walked past the billboard. The red carpet leads through the subway hall and into a mall where there is a store located where you can purchase the Nikon D700.

THEY START YOUNG

Most people have heard of the name Jean Paul Gaultier, but for kids? Once upon a time, it was hand-me-downs from your older brothers and sisters. Kids are starting to develop an individual sense of style at a young age. No kid is really going to tell their mom they want a Jean Paul Gaultier trench coat, however, with the influence of a fashion savvy parent they can begin making detailed fashion choices at an earlier age.

VIVA GLAM

Every year Mac Cosmetics releases a limited edition Viva Glam lipstick which proceeds goes towards their MAC aids fund.

I think this is perfect because recently the younger generation became obsessed with retro culture. MAC is a cosmetic brand that appeals to all ages. This will attract both the younger and older generation by using two icons of their generation, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga. As for the design of the lipstick itself, it's actually quite good. The shape of the lipstick container never changes, the only thing that has changed over the year is the colour. Red and black always goes well together. I like that the bold red is inside the lipstick cap because it looks like the average mac lipstick until you open it up and it has lady gaga's signature on the inside.

LIBERTY OF LONDON, JACK OF ALL TRADES MASTER OF NONE

I first heard of this company when I was on the Mac Cosmetics website. Then I started seeing them everywhere. I recently went to Target (in buffalo) and there was isles and isles of Liberty of London everything. It started popping up on blogs I read as well. Whats the big deal?

http://www.liberty.co.uk/

I feel like they are trying to sell you everything. Everything from a leather jacket that costs £1,210.00 to a candle that costs £32. Are they really trying to say that everything they make is well designed? They really trying to charge £50 for a hideous bra rather than Victoria Secret that sells amazingly designed
lingerie for less. I prefer brands that specialize in whatever they are selling, with small supporting things like accessories, shoes, things like that. A brand is supposed to strive to create the best products for their consumers especially if they are charging a high price.
Because they sell pretty much everything, there must be something that catches your attention. Mine would be for this coat. I like the asymmetrical zipper. Most jackets like this have the zipper starting from one end and going diagonally to the other side. This makes more sense, the zipper goes strait up from the side then the collars fold over.

DIGITAL GIRL

We live in a digital era where every aspect of life is affected by technology....even love. This is a video called Digital Girl by Jamie Foxx (yes the actor!) featuring Drake (Jimmy from Degrassi/Toronto represent!), The Dream (who produced this track), and of course Kanye West who needs no introduction.

If you're noticing a visual trend it is indeed directed by Hype Williams who also directed Girls All Around The World by Lloyd. I LOVE all the references to technological terms. I love all the colours against the dark backdrop. Who said hip hop is dead? Even though it is mainstream the future of hip hop is looking good if every song/video could be well written, well produced, well directed and well rapped.

GIRLS ALL AROUND THE WORLD

This video/song is a match made in christine's heaven. Old school music and a futuristic video? Crazy!

Lloyd Feat Lil Wayne Girls All Around The World

I really like this video because for one, Lloyd is one of my favourite singers his unique brand of R&B is really good. The silver, light-eyed effect is an interesting take on girls of the future. Nothing futuristic is complete without a reference to outer space. Lil Wayne's verse is unnecessary, it doesn't add to the design...I mean the song. The beat of the song is a sample from an old school track called "paid in full" by Eric B and Rakim. How much is too much? if you listen to the original song, you'll notice that Lil Wayne's verse HEAVILY samples Rakim's verse.

CASS BEER

2pm is a ground breaking band that currently endorses Cass beer and along with thier endorsement they created a brand new song called tik tok (featuring Yoon Eun Hye) and a drama/commerical to go along with it.

Nickhun plays the famous singer
Yoon Eun Hye plays Nickhun's assistant
Taecyeon plays the cop
Junsu plays Nickhun's manager.

The subtitles have to be turned on

Although it isn't as effective if you aren't familiar with the people in the drama I think it is done well nonetheless. I enjoyed every little bit of it. I thought I'd like it because I already listen to the band but I can appreciate the whole production of it. I like that the fact it is supposed to promote cass beer, doesn't overpower the story but the scenes where the logo is present is memorable. The commercial features the famous Yoon Eun Hye an actress well known for her versatile roles is expected to deliver. The roles played by the boys were done in good taste. Normally when you hear the word drama there is this cheesy stigma that goes along with it. I have to say it really engaged me, I wanted to know who the stalker really was, I could understand why Nickhun was so disturbed and acting rebellious, I could understand why she did what she did, I could feel Taecyeon's regret at the end.

Who's side are you on? I think if it was me I would have done the same as Yoon Eun Hye, not because Nickhun is so easy to be obsessed with its because of her passion that comes with what she desires.
